Looking after your hair extensions will ensure they always look and feel amazing!
Your hair extensions should be gently brushed daily. Use a hair extension brush specifically designed for hair extensions. You should expect your hair extensions to shed similar to normal hair.
Seamless Clip-in extensions do not need to be washed very often unless you are wearing them on a regular basis.
Seamless Tape and Seamless Weave hair extensions should be washed at least once a week. This is to prevent any build-up from damaging the hair, thread and or adhesive. When using shampoo, conditioner and or hair masks ensure they do not contain Sulphates, Parabens, Sodium Chloride and or Proteins. If products like this are used on the extensions they will become very dry, brittle and matted and unfortunately will become almost impossible to revive and bring back to good condition. These ingredients can also cause colour fading on ombre extension colours. Purple, Blue and Silver shampoos can dry out the extensions so ensure they aren't left on the hair for very long or used regularly.
We recommend using b3 Extension Repair Shampoo and Conditioner which helps prolong the life of extensions an additional 2 months.
We recommend using a nourishing hair serum like White Sands Orchid Oil to keep the extensions nourished and silky smooth.
How long after the extensions have been applied can I wash my hair?
Washing your hair can be done at least 48 hours after application.
We also recommend ensuring all of your styling or leave in hair products do not contain Sulphates, Parabens, Sodium Chloride and or Proteins.
Drying & Styling
It is best to let your extensions air dry after washing. If a hair dryer is needed, use on a low or medium heat. Your hair extensions should be completely dry before using a flat or curling iron.
Storing or Sleeping
To store your Seamless Clip-in hair extensions, it is best to wait until they are fully dry before putting them away. We don't recommend sleeping with your Clip-ins as it can cause damage to your natural hair.
When sleeping with our Seamless Weave or Seamless Tape hair extensions, it is best to wait until they are fully dry. The extensions can then be loosely braided, which will prevent tangling and matting while sleeping. Using our Seamless Silk Pillowcase is a great option to also help prevent tangles.
Colouring & Toning
If you have Seamless Tape hair extensions, we recommend that before colouring your hair extensions you wait at least 72hrs after application. Colouring your natural hair on the same day as application can result in the tape adhesive slipping out of your hair.
It is essential that you do not bleach, perm or chemically straighten the hair extensions, as this will damage them. If you do decide to colour your extensions, then we recommend you have a professional do this. As the extensions are very porous, we advise that a spot test is done first.
Purple, Blue and Silver toning shampoos can dry out the extensions so ensure they aren't left on the hair for very long or used to regularly.
Shedding & Tangling
Shedding from hair extensions is expected and is normal, but it shouldn't be excessive. Just like natural hair, extensions can tangle. As our hair extensions are 100% Remy hair it will not tangle or knot frequently if cared for correctly. We recommend using a nourishing hair serum like White Sands Orchid Oil to keep the extensions nourished and silky smooth.
